The Reason for the Season

I have been thinking about the comments I hear about the reason for celebrating this season. Some say it is to celebrate winter equinox, some say it is all about Santa Claus, some say it is about the merchants to make money. And then there are those of us who believe it is all about Jesus Christ's birth. I believe this a good time to remember the One who came to save me from my sins. He was born for the purpose to pay for the sins of the world through His suffering, die on the cross, and then be resurrected so we might all be redeemed from death. That is my Reason for the Season. I hope if you don't agree with me that you won't mock me because I won't mock anyone else for their Reason for the Season. So I say to you all MERRY CHRISTMAS with an emphasis on Christ.

Christmas

We spent Friday and Saturday decorating for Christmas. We were having a hard time doing it because we realized we do this decorating thing for our children and grandchildren and since they aren't close by anymore we weren't sure we wanted to do it. But then we remembered that we can post pictures and share with them anyway. So, dear Grandchildren, don't nag us about decorating because as you can see we have done it for you. Merry Christmas from Nana and Papa!

Thanksgiving

I want to say how thankful I am for my children (which includes the children by marriage), my grandchildren, and my husband. Not necessarily in that order. I am thankful for good health, alert mind, and eyes that can see without glasses. I am thankful for my testimony of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, Joseph Smith, and a latter-day prophet - Thomas S. Monson. I am thankful for a warm house, hot showers, food, clothing that is provided by my Heavenly Father. I am thankful for the Atonement. I am just plain old thankful!!!!

Trailer trash people

After much thinking, praying, searching and researching we finally (after 1 year) found a camp trailer we liked. We found it Ardell Brown in Draper. It sleeps 6, has lots of storage, a bathroom, a double slideout at the couch and table and a few other amenities that we wanted. Now, we have to wait till spring to go try it out. It is too cold to even sleep in it right now. But good things come to those who wait. I can hardly wait to go fishing, camping and Education Week (because we can use it instead of getting a hotel room - save us a bunch of pesos).

Trip to Oregon on Labor Day

Miniature golfing. Everybody had a good time - even Nana whose feet really hurt so she sat and read a book and took pictures.

Mike and Kara know how to get a hole in one!!!!
We went to Logan for Aubrey's 3rd birthday. Bryan and Ashlyn had fun helping Aubrey open her gifts and, of course, Aubrey really hammed it up for pictures.
